How to join the
Pakistan Shotokan Karate Federation
How to affiliate your club to the Pakistan Shotokan Karate Federation
Joining the PSKF as a club
Clubs may apply for affiliation of the PSKF by contacting the PSKF Administration Office or by completing the Online Club Affiliation Form (see the 'Links' section below).
The minimum grade for a regular PSKF Instructor is lst Dan. This is in order to maintain a high technical standard. In certain cases an exception can be made to this rule, on application to the Technical Committee, via the Affiliation Officer.
In the case of a club transferring from another Shotokan organisation, all members will be allowed to retain their present grade but must re-grade within 12 months of the transfer and be assessed for their PSKF standard. They will be awarded an appropriate grade, which could be the same grade, a lower grade or the next grade up. They will then continue grading with the PSKF within the usual time scales.
In the case of a club transferring from another style organisation, members may retain their grade for a maximum of twelve months but must take advice from a senior PSKF instructor or a grading examiner before taking a PSKF grading.
Karateka of 3rd Dan and above who wish to transfer to the PSKF will be advised by the Technical Committee regarding their integration into the PSKF grading system.
Joining the PSKF as an individual member
PSKF Individuals may become members of the Pakistan Shotokan Karate Federation (PSKF) by joining a PSKF club and purchasing a licence.
All PSKF clubs will be able to supply the appropriate information and licence application forms. Licence application forms can also be accessed online (see the 'PSKF Licences' section below). This licence gives the holder access to PSKF facilities and provides appropriate insurance cover.
The PSKF insurers provide cover to new PSKF club members to train at a PSKF club for up to 3 occasions in order to allow them time to apply for and receive a licence.
